Decades ago, a young artist claimed she heard the hum as she sketched the dome under a full moon. Moved by the sound, she created a painting of a vibrant, untouched Hiroshima, filled with joyful faces and endless cherry blossoms. Mysteriously, the painting was completed before she ever saw an image of the city as it was before the bombing.

That night, Ryo dreamed of a goddess who warned him: "The orb belongs to the tides and the spirits of this sacred island. Return it, or the seas will rage." Doubting the dream, Ryo kept the orb, but the next day, violent storms lashed the shores, and the islanders begged for mercy. Filled with guilt, Ryo returned the orb beneath the torii, and the storms ceased as suddenly as they began.

Even now, locals say that during high tide, if the water is calm, you might see a faint glow beneath the gate—perhaps a reminder of the sacred balance between humanity and nature.
